workplace gossip

I would have to agree that gossip in the workplace can definatly get out of control. It happens everywhere, i dont care what some people say. In the most sophisicated offices, someone is talking to someone, who is talking to another spreading news that may be good or bad. Its pretty much human nature. Everywhere i have worked there has always been those people who just love to know everything about everybody. They are always leaning against the door, when managers are in meetings, jsut to be the first to hear news about the company, or changes that are coming. Most of their informationt they tell others gets stretched and not always very reliable. Gossip also causes lots of probelms between co-workers and can lead to firering, quitting or even jsut inappropriate fights in the work place. Most paces do try to put rules on this sort of thing, like telling workers that they can only talk about certain things while in uniform, but that is impossible. As far as I can say, this will always be a problem.
